Circumstances, situations, emotions - all of these can overwhelm us when we are swimming inside of them. As a therapist, my goal is to help you step outside the overwhelm during our session and sit with you as we look at things from a different angle. I believe in curiosity, and I aim to help you get curious about things. What are the things we can and can't control? What behaviours, thoughts, and patterns are we engaging with, and what purpose are they serving? Are there kinder, gentler, more compassionate ways to meet this purpose?

In previous roles, I have supported individuals experiencing anxiety; mental health challenges; self-harm tendencies and suicidal ideation; interpersonal difficulties; burnout; shame; and cognitive dissonance. I am a former English as a Second Language Instructor and a first-generation settler from an immigrant family, and have a special interest in working with newcomers and other individuals who identify as having a foot in two (or more) cultures at once. I am neurodiversity-affirming and LGBTQ+-affirming.

I am an MSW Student receiving supervision and mentorship from fully licensed Registered Social Workers and Registered Psychotherapists.

If you are reading this, there's a good chance life feels particularly hard right now. Reaching out for support can be a scary step, and I'm glad you're here. As a therapist, I consider it not only my job, but my privilege to walk alongside you through life's challenges. You shouldn't have to carry everything on your own, and you don't have to. As a relational, trauma-informed therapist, I see therapy as a collaborative process. I believe that you are an expert in your own life. You bring your lived experience, and I bring my clinical knowledge and perspective. Together, we can work to better understand what feels stuck, co-create meaningful goals, and forge a new path forward that feels authentic to you. I hope to help you reconnect with your voice, your strengths, and the parts of yourself that may have been overshadowed or left behind in all the stress, pain, and self-doubt. If this approach resonates with you, I would be honoured to be a part of your journey.

I believe that one size doesn't fit all. That is why I employ a variety of diverse therapeutic modalities and approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behavioural Therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. I believe each session should reflect your unique needs and emotional state in that moment. No two clients are the same — and neither are any two sessions

My professional and educational background is rooted in psychology, advocacy, and social justice. My passion for mental health knows no age limit. I have experience supporting individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. In the past, I worked as a shelter worker at a youth crisis center, supporting youth ages 12-17 who experienced significant distress and trauma. I was also a pre-school teacher at an Indigenous childcare center, supporting children aged 3-6. In addition to this, I have experience working at an eating disorder support clinic where I worked extensively with adults struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, and body dysmorphia. I also have experience supporting neurodivergent folks and identify as one myself!

I bring warmth, curiosity, and a genuine interest in understanding your experience. I want our sessions to be a place where you can speak openly and honestly, without feeling that you need to have everything figured out. Together, we can slow things down, make sense of what you are experiencing, and explore what may be getting in the way of feeling more connected to yourself and your life.

My approach is collaborative and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own experience. I may invite you to look at patterns, emotions, relationships, values, and assumptions that shape how you navigate the world, while always respecting your pace and what feels meaningful to you. I hope to offer both acceptance and thoughtful challenge when it can help you see something from a different perspective.

People come to therapy for many different reasons: pain, loss, trauma, anxiety, relationship struggles, or feeling stuck and overwhelmed. I believe healing often begins with being genuinely heard, understood, and seen. As a Mandarin- and English-speaking therapist, I offer a warm, compassionate, culturally sensitive, and non-judgmental space where we can explore your experiences and feelings with curiosity and care. When the heart is truly heard, even the deepest pain becomes less lonely.

I work from an integrative approach, with Person-Centered Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy forming the foundation of my work. Recognizing each client's uniqueness, I flexibly draw from Psychodynamic Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Trauma-Informed Approach, Existential and Humanistic approaches, Narrative Therapy, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness-Based approaches, and Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy. I also focus on the connection between the mind and body and incorporate somatic awareness when appropriate.

As a Chinese therapist trained in Western psychotherapy and influenced by Eastern philosophical traditions, I bring a culturally attuned perspective to my work. I draw not only from the professional perspectives of diverse Western psychological approaches, but also from the healing wisdom and aesthetic sensibilities of the East. I value each person’s unique cultural background, identity, values, and lived experiences, and tailor therapy to honour your perspective and support your individual journey. With genuine presence and compassion, I strive to hold space for each person’s pain, accompany you through the fog of difficult times, and support you in reconnecting with the rhythm of your own life.

If you feel trapped in the same patterns and feel frustrated or disconnected to yourself, then it makes sense why you're looking for support! Maybe you wonder why taking care of your own needs feels selfish or impossible, and you might even struggle to understand what those needs are in the first place. Whatever is coming up for you, these are barriers worth exploring, and you don't have to figure it out alone. I view therapy as a secure place to explore challenging experiences, and I hope we can work together to learn what it could mean to you.

I have several years of experience working with children and families at the Hospital for Sick Children (Sickkids) in Toronto, and I continue to work there part-time as a Child and Youth Counsellor. I have worked in community mental health, including within schools and shelters, here in the Waterloo Region. At the Delton Glebe, I work with individuals, couples, and families to support their relationships with each other and within themselves.

I use a psychodynamic and relational approach to therapy, meeting you where you are and building on your strengths to address your challenges. I have additional training in EMDR (Level 1 of Basic Training), Emotionally-Focused Couple’s Therapy (EFT), ACT for ADHD/Neurodivergence, and Queer Theory.

Thank you for being here — I know it takes courage to take this step. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating life's transitions and struggles, and I create a safe, collaborative space where you're free to be yourself and feel truly heard. My own journey — including navigating immigration and practicing across continents — shapes a culturally-informed approach and how I show up with clients, always trusting that you know your story best. In our work together, your emotions and experiences are met with respect and curiosity, not judgment. If you choose to work together, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.

My areas of focus include grief, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and trauma. Life transitions, immigration-related adjustment, and cultural or identity-related stress. Couples navigating communication, connection, conflict, or infidelity, and repairing their relationship. Parenting challenges and relational dynamics. Meaning-making and spiritually integrated therapy.

I use an eclectic, integrative approach rooted in psychodynamic work, drawing also from humanistic, existential, CBT, ACT, positive psychology, DBT, somatic, mindfulness-based, and narrative therapies. With couples, I draw from the Gottman Method, a systemic lens, and attachment theory. My work is trauma-informed throughout.

As relational beings, we heal and grow best in safe, supportive connection. I believe therapy is a collaborative process where finding a sense of safety and resonance with your therapist is the first step toward change.

I help people navigate the "heavy" parts of life, leaning into the uncomfortable moments to find potential for meaning and growth. We might work together on:

  • Mental Wellness: Stress, overwhelm, anxiety, panic, and burnout.
  • Embodiment: Body-image, self-worth, and confidence.
  • Life Transitions: Change, grief, and navigating new chapters.
  • Relationships: Boundary setting, assertiveness, and complex family dynamics.
  • Purpose: Meaning-making, spirituality, and healing from religious harm.
  • Health & Disability: Living with chronic illness or pain; family support for children with disabilities.

I take a whole-person perspective, recognizing the interconnectedness between our emotions, bodies, relationships, and spiritual well-being. My practice is informed by Psychodynamic therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy, and as a Certified Music Therapist (MTA), I offer creative modalities for when words feel out of reach. While my training provides the tools, your life experience provides the direction. My goal is to create a space that feels safe and unhurried—one that respects your timing and stays centred on your personal values.

I know that life can get complicated, messy, and stressful, and we often feel alone in our struggle. It can be difficult to allow ourselves to be seen, heard, and accepted for who we are, and it takes self-awareness, courage, and vulnerability to reach out for help. I honour you for being here and taking the next step. I believe in your capacity for resilience, growth, and healing.

My goal is to help create a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where your story is heard and respected, where your knowledge, lived experience, and strengths are valued and honoured. I know that no matter where you’ve come from, how you were raised, or what happened to you it does not determine who you are and who you are becoming – you have choice in your outcome.

I work from an integrative approach that is client-centered, relationship-driven, and trauma-informed to help us understand why we do what we do, how we got here, and how we can move through life in a way that works best for us. My work is grounded in Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Family Systems with a focus on somatic integration to connect mind, body, and spirit in the healing process. I often work within the themes of grief, anxiety, identity, and shame, which can show up in many ways, including relational trauma, ADHD, dissociative disorders, and ambiguous loss.

I believe meaningful change begins when we feel safe enough to slow down, become curious about ourselves, and listen to what our experiences are trying to tell us. My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, and collaborative, integrating trauma-informed, attachment-based, nervous-system-informed, somatic, and narrative perspectives. I support people in understanding how past experiences have shaped their nervous system and the ways they relate to themselves, their bodies, and the people they love, while discovering new possibilities for healing and connection. Together, we create space not only to understand what has happened, but to cultivate greater safety and reconnect with authenticity, self-compassion, resilience, and a deeper sense of who you are. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside people as they move toward greater freedom, wholeness, and meaningful connection in their lives.

In my personal work, I bring together a trauma-informed approach, that is grounded in an understanding of the connection between mind, body, nervous system, relationships, and lived experience. I draw from Attachment Theory, Somatic, Poly Vagal and Nervous-System-Informed approaches, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Mindfulness, and Self-Compassion-based practices, adapting my work to the unique needs of each person. I am also a certified Safe and Sound Protocol Practitioner.

I am so glad you are here. My life’s calling is supporting folks through their lived experiences of sensitivity, trauma, emotional regulation, and more. I enjoy working with individuals who have “borderline traits,” self-harm, suicidality, and difficult relationships. Therapy is a collaborative and relational experience where we work together to find the right intervention (and where every other word can be the “f” word if needed).

I take a trauma-informed and attachment-focused approach to your concerns. I draw from Internal Family Systems and “parts-based” models to make sense of the oscillating moods you may experience. When talking it out doesn’t feel helpful, I draw from my training in sensorimotor and somatic psychotherapy techniques to help you process through stuck points.

Jungian Psychoanalysis (IAAP)
CURRENTLY ACCEPTING SELECT CLIENTS

I am a Jungian Psychoanalyst offering Jungian Analysis to individuals who want a deeper understanding of themselves. For many reasons, these persons feel emotionally in pain, conflicted or unbalanced in their inner and/or outer life. They benefit from exploring the deep-rooted causes of relationship problems and unproductive emotional patterns that were created from wounding and trauma. The direction of therapy is to look to the past and to the unconscious determinants of behavior but also to open to the creative and positive movements of the psyche that offer healing wisdom or a way forward even in the face of the greatest difficulties or trauma.

It is very difficult to deal with the darker elements of our lives and minds, but I offer an understanding way through the chaos and gloom into the light of self-discovery and lasting change.

As a Jungian Psychoanalyst, I provide a listening and compassionate place for conversation. I offer a client a way to learn about and dialogue with their deepest self, whether through discussing dreams, writing, drawing or using miniatures in a sand tray. All these methods can be helpful depending on an individual’s desires and situation. Jungian analysis is gentle but requires commitment and regular, sometimes intense work. We may use some of the following in our sessions:

  • Jungian Sandplay Therapy
  • Illness and the Mind/Body interconnection
  • Dream Groups

  • Adults (18+)
  • Seniors

I have over 30 years of experience working in schools, hospitals, counselling agencies and private practice. I have worked with individuals of all ages who have experienced abuse, depression and loss or who were faced with the challenges of relationships or of adjusting to a new stage of life or health. I supervised Masters level students. I now specialize in counselling for psychotherapists and psychotherapists-in-training, individuals with physical health difficulties and people experiencing the changes of mid-life or elderhood.
