Group Therapy and Workshops

Group Therapy

Group work offers the opportunity to meet with a professional and with others who are experiencing a similar concern or are interested in the theme of the group. A group can be a place to learn new information and skills, share experiences, develop supportive relationships, and discover new resources. Group programs also provide access to a professional at a reduced overall cost.

Groups are periodically offered at the Glebe. Examples of groups we have offered in the past include dreams, healthy relationships, grief, parenting, and play therapy groups.

  • At the Glebe, we offer closed and open groups.
  • Closed groups run for a set amount of time, with a set roster of participants who engage with the therapy for the course of the program together. This allows for a deep sense of trust and community to form.
  • Open groups are groups that run a specific amount of time, but new members are allowed to join at any time so long as a spot is available.

Yes, confidentiality is a pillar of group therapy. What is discussed in the group stays in the group. The only caveat is that the therapist may be legally required to break confidentiality in cases of imminent danger to yourself or others, or cases in which child or elder abuse is suspected.

  • We will be hosting the following groups in the fall:
  • Closed Groups — Thanksgiving - Christmas
    • Challenging the Eating Disorder Voice
  • Open Groups — Thanksgiving – Christmas
    • Unmasked Connections: A Neurodivergent Support Group
